SAD NEWS

To all of our customers,

Today comes the very sad news that Longs Bar is now permanently closed.

We would like to thank all of our customers for supporting us over the years and making Longs Bar the great fun place it used to be.

Thank you for the fond memories, the many nights spent drinking and dancing the night away, for all the good times, for coming along to support a local business and helping Longs keep Lymington young. In my opinion it won't be long until other pubs feel the pressure and have to follow suit, we will then start to see the deteriation of Lymington nightlife making our beloved town another graveyard where younger people have nowhere to go.

To those who came on New Year - and partied their asses off until 5.30am - thank you. You were all perfectly well behaved and very much a happy, fun crowd - we hope you enjoyed yourselves as much as it looked like you did! Thank you to the Police who yet again decided to waste their time sitting in the bus station entrance waiting for something bad to happen... Sorry you didn't get your quota that night.

Special thanks also goes out to the Lymington Times who reported on the front page a couple of months ago that the Court had closed Longs, your misreporting really helped turn customers away from the high street after our refurbishment. We had not closed at that point, instead been forced into having our hours cut to give Longs a 12am disadvantage against other 1am pubs in the area.

Longs Bar has been a part of Lymington life for many, many years in different forms, but sadly another independent local business is gone, because of a select few people who wanted it gone. I hope you're happy now and hope your pensions don't get cut too much!!!

Finally, a last thank you to all of our staff who have supported and helped Longs Bar run over the years.

Stay safe. Goodbye Longs, you'll be sadly missed x
